Joy Reese, PharmD

Before joining McKesson, Joy worked at Walgreens for 19 years, holding various leadership positions with increasing levels of responsibility in retail, specialty and infusion pharmacy. During her time as Senior Director, Advanced Therapies at AllianceRx Walgreens Prime, she established a dedicated team for infusion therapy and implemented a national nursing network to facilitate the quick discharge of patients with complex health conditions to their homes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Joy transitioned back to the retail pharmacy side of Walgreens and led the introduction of in-store COVID-19 vaccines and testing in her area of responsibility. She also oversaw the successful URAC accreditation of her community-based specialty pharmacies.

Joy is dedicated to placing the needs of patients at the forefront. Her ability to collaborate, build relationships, and promote synergies across diverse business domains has played a pivotal role in enhancing the overall patient experience and achieving better health outcomes.

Joy obtained her bachelor’s degree in 2002 from Canisius University in Buffalo, NY, and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Midwestern University – Glendale, AZ, in 2006.
