Chief Medical Officer – The US Oncology Network

Marcus Neubauer, MD, is the Chief Medical Officer for The US Oncology Network, one of the nation’s largest networks of integrated, community-based oncology practices supported by McKesson U.S. Pharmaceutical and Specialty Health. He has been with McKesson since March 2013. From June 2011 to March 2013, he practiced medical oncology as an associate professor at the University of Kansas. Prior to that, he was a medical oncologist at the Kansas City Cancer Center for 18 years and practiced part-time at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance from 2014 to 2018. His areas of interest are value-based care, precision medicine and practice management.

Dr. Neubauer is a founding member of The US Oncology Network Pathways Task Force, the committee responsible for developing and updating the industry-leading, evidenced-based Level I Pathways. Dr. Neubauer led the collaboration with the National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN) to build Value Pathways powered by NCCN®, a premium set of guidelines and pathways that will assist the oncology community in driving value-based, high-quality cancer care.

Dr. Neubauer received his BS at the University of Washington in 1984 and his medical degree at the University of Kansas in 1988. He completed his Oncology-Hematology fellowship at the University of Washington in 1993. He served on the editorial board for Journal of Oncology Practice for eight years and also served as Co-Chair of the lung cancer committee for US Oncology Research from 2000 to 2006.
